• The app remains operational in China via local Bluetooth connections but is no longer available for download on Apple’s platform in mainland China.

Bitchat, a decentralized messaging app inspired by Bitcoin‘s anti-censorship principles, was removed from the China App Store due to regulatory non-compliance. Despite this, existing users in China can still use it via Bluetooth connections.
