The Financial Action Task Force announced a targeted review of jurisdictions with substantial crypto-service provider activity to examine gaps in applying anti-money laundering standards. It did not name the jurisdictions or say how many would be reviewed. FATF said its regular assessments and follow-up procedures would remain its main tools for evaluating compliance.
Initial findings are due in June 2027, with further results in October 2027. A July FATF report found that 83% of surveyed jurisdictions had adopted crypto Travel Rule legislation, but 55 of the 91 jurisdictions with such laws had not taken supervisory or enforcement action on compliance.
