Kazakhstan court orders curbs on six platforms

Kazakhstan’s Astana International Financial Centre court issued a Sept. 15 order barring seven named platforms from offering digital-asset services without licenses in its jurisdiction. An amendment three days later removed LBank after its operator blocked access in Kazakhstan, leaving six platforms subject to the injunctions. According to the regulator, the order also covers Google and Apple as app-store operators and requires geographic restrictions on access to the remaining platforms.

The Astana Financial Services Authority said users of unlicensed platforms lack safeguards required of licensed firms, including asset protection and complaints handling. The National Bank oversees digital-asset service providers outside the financial centre.
