Lazarus Group Launders Stolen Crypto via eXch After Bybit Hack

  • The Lazarus Group is linked to the theft of nearly $1.5 billion in Ethereum and Lido Staked Ether from Bybit.
  • Elliptic reports that over $75 million of the stolen assets have been laundered through eXch.
  • Within two hours of the hack, funds were distributed to 50 wallets, each holding about 10,000 ETH.
  • As of February 24, approximately $195 million (14.5% of stolen assets) has been moved from these wallets.
  • Bybit has restored a 1:1 backing on all client assets following the hack.

The Lazarus Group has reportedly laundered over $75 million of crypto stolen from Bybit through eXch, despite requests to block such transactions. The funds were quickly dispersed across multiple wallets and are being systematically laundered through various services.
