Blockchain infrastructure designer Alchemy has launched Alchemy Rollups, a comprehensive development kit for rollup-centric innovation in the crypto ecosystem. This launch aims to streamline the development, optimization, and deployment of layer-2 blockchains, focusing on scale, speed, and cost-efficiency.
Alchemy Rollups will initially integrate with Arbitrum Orbit and Optimism Stack frameworks, allowing developers to leverage zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs or optimistic systems. According to product lead Monica Garde, this toolkit provides the same “battle-tested infrastructure” that supports top networks in decentralized finance (DeFi).
Rollups are crucial for scaling DeFi and improving dapp efficiency, as championed by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. With over $66.9 billion in total value locked on Ethereum, rollups offer a cost-effective alternative without compromising security.
Garde emphasized that the toolkit enables innovators to build and launch customized chains, unlocking new monetization avenues and ensuring financial sustainability. This development is strategically vital for Ethereum’s long-term success by addressing current scalability challenges.
