Elon Musk has denied claims that he discussed crypto with Donald Trump, despite ongoing speculation and reports suggesting otherwise. Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify that he has never talked about crypto with Trump.
Musk’s denial came in response to a Bloomberg report that claimed he had counseled Trump on crypto-related matters. The report also speculated about Musk potentially speaking at the upcoming Republican National Convention alongside Trump.
Trump has increasingly promoted Bitcoin and other digital assets on his campaign trail, seeing them as a way to attract new voters. His crypto holdings have exceeded $10 million, and the MAGA token recently reached an all-time high of $15.4.
On May 29, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump was considering a possible advisory role for Musk if he were to win the White House in November. Although Musk announced he wouldn’t contribute to either presidential campaign, he allegedly plans to hold events to discourage rich supporters from backing Joe Biden.
This evolving relationship is significant for the crypto market. Both Musk and Trump have the potential to influence public attitudes toward digital currencies, which could sway investor sentiment and shape future regulatory policies, impacting the broader adoption and stability of crypto.
The strategic importance of this relationship cannot be understated, as it could significantly affect the future landscape of digital currencies.
