The crypto market is set for its second major token unlock of the year, amounting to over $3 billion in May. Leading this wave are Aevo and Pyth, each releasing over $1 billion worth of tokens.
Aevo will unlock 827.6 million tokens on May 15, valued at $1.257 billion, increasing its current supply by 758%. Pyth Network will release 2.13 billion tokens worth $1.25 billion on March 20, marking its first token unlock since launching last November.
Other notable unlocks include Avalanche’s release of 9.54 million AVAX tokens valued at $332 million on May 22, and DeFi protocol dYdX unlocking 33.33 million tokens worth $71 million. Memecoin will also release 5.31 billion MEME tokens, valued at $141 million, representing 31.92% of its circulating supply.
This token unlock wave could significantly impact market conditions by increasing selling pressure. Strategic token releases like these are crucial for incentivizing ecosystem participants and supporting project development.
