Google, Meta Offer Hollywood Millions

Google and Meta have proposed deals worth “tens of millions” to Hollywood studios to license content for AI video generators. This groundbreaking move, reported by Bloomberg, illustrates a significant step in the fusion of technology and entertainment.

Netflix and Disney declined these offers but are open to other partnerships. Warner Brothers Discovery, however, is willing to license some programs for AI training. Hollywood is already integrating AI in production, as seen with AI-aged actors in upcoming films, noted by Metaphysic.ai.

Google’s Veo and Meta’s Make-A-Video tools demonstrate the transformative potential of AI in content creation. Concerns exist about potential tensions between studios and creative partners over these deals, underscored by ethical issues like Scarlett Johansson’s accusation against OpenAI.

This dialogue between tech giants and Hollywood marks a pivotal moment, potentially revolutionizing storytelling and production while necessitating careful consideration of creative rights and ethical implications.
