PancakeSwap has launched a campaign to refund interface fees for Uniswap users, covering trades from May 16 to Aug. 15. This move comes in response to Uniswap Labs hiking its fees in April, with PancakeSwap offering refunds for users who match their Uniswap v3 trading volume on its platform. The highlight of this campaign is its promise for lower fees and better prices, aiming to alleviate the increased costs imposed by Uniswap’s fee adjustment.
To qualify, traders must have traded at least $5,000 in WBTC or WETH on Uniswap between Jan. 1 and March 31, with eligibility verification available through PancakeSwap’s Dune dashboard. This initiative positions PancakeSwap, currently the fifth-largest DEX by volume, as a direct competitor to Uniswap, leveraging strategic refunds to potentially shift market dynamics. The effort underscores PancakeSwap’s broader ambition to capture a larger share of the DEX market.
