A fake Phantom wallet app, published by Meta Voxify, is reportedly draining users’ funds upon account recovery with a private key, according to [Alex Fazel](https://x.com/alex_fazel/status/1806607510582772104). The fraudulent app, mimicking the legitimate Phantom Wallet, is still live in the UK AppStore.
Despite poor 1-star reviews, the fake app appears as an ad and deceptively resembles the authentic application developed by Phantom Technologies. Interestingly, it is listed under the ‘Education’ category rather than ‘Utilities’ and claims to have been available for 17 years—longer than both Solana and Bitcoin.
Swissborg co-founder Alex Fazel has warned users about the app, noting that it drains assets as soon as the account is recovered with a private key. [Mende Matthias](https://x.com/MendeMatthias/status/1805685069232881793), co-founder of the Dubai Blockchain Center, reported a theft exceeding $100,000 after using the fake app.
