Etherscan data shows Buterin’s contribution went to the “Free Pertsev and Storm” fund on Juicebox, which has raised 591 ETH worth $2.2 million.
Pertsev and Storm have faced legal issues for their involvement with the Tornado Cash crypto mixer. Pertsev was sentenced to 64 months in prison for laundering $1.2 billion, but he has appealed. Storm is detained in the US with a trial set for September.
