The Arbitrum Foundation has committed 225 million ARB, around $214 million, to support blockchain gaming projects over the next three years through the Gaming Catalyst Program (GCP). This initiative, backed by over 75% of Arbitrum DAO participants, aims to propel blockchain gaming forward.
Initially proposed in March 2024 with 200 million ARB, the foundation increased the investment to 225 million ARB by June 7, reflecting growing confidence in the sector. The GCP will provide developers with 160 million ARB and allocate 40 million ARB for infrastructure rewards. Additional funds will cover operational expenses and salaries for the GCP team of five members.
This substantial investment is expected to drive significant growth and innovation in the blockchain gaming industry. By offering crucial resources and mentorship, the Arbitrum Foundation aims to enhance the overall ecosystem and attract more participants. This strategic move underscores blockchain technology’s potential to revolutionize gaming and other sectors.
