Crypto Giants Winklevoss Donate $2M to Trump

Donald Trump, the U.S. presidential candidate, received over $2 million in Bitcoin donations from the Winklevoss twins, founders of the Gemini crypto exchange. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss each donated 15.47 BTC to support Trump’s pro-crypto and pro-business stance.

The twins have criticized the Biden administration’s approach to cryptocurrency regulation, arguing it stifles innovation and harms the American economy. Trump’s campaign, which accepts multiple cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu, aims to position him as the “crypto president.”

This significant donation could boost mainstream acceptance and regulatory clarity for cryptocurrencies, potentially encouraging further innovations and investments in the sector. The $2 million Bitcoin donation underscores a growing intersection between cryptocurrency and politics, signaling a potential shift in the U.S. regulatory landscape.
