Hackers Threaten CeFi Platforms in 2024: Expert Alert

Hackers are increasingly targeting centralized financial platforms (CeFi), with over 70% of stolen crypto funds resulting from breaches in these systems, according to Cyvers CEO Deddy Lavid. These attacks are expected to surge in 2024, driven by code vulnerabilities and human error.

Real-time threat detection and AI integration can significantly enhance security. Cyvers’ recent report shows a 900% increase in losses from centralized exchanges compared to 2023. Notably, the Indian crypto exchange WazirX lost over $235 million to a hack.

Improved security protocols are crucial for protecting both CeFi platforms and the broader Web3 ecosystem. Addressing these challenges can help maintain investor confidence and foster sustainable growth in the crypto industry.
