A DeFi Education Fund survey found that 22% of U.S. adults had ever owned or used cryptocurrency, up from 18% in the previous survey. Use during the past 12 months was unchanged at 13%, so the increase in lifetime use did not mean more people had used cryptocurrency recently. The latest survey covered 1,545 adults and had a margin of error of about 2.8 percentage points.
Only 19% considered the U.S. financial system safe, and 63% supported updating it to address new threats, including those related to artificial intelligence. Forty percent said they were at least somewhat willing to try decentralized finance if given the opportunity, although only 2% were very familiar with it.
