Trump Supports Silk Road Pardon, Endorses Cryptocurrency

Donald Trump has pledged to free Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht and voiced strong support for the cryptocurrency industry if he wins the upcoming presidential election. Speaking at the National Libertarian Convention in Washington, Trump promised to commute Ulbricht’s severe sentence of two life terms plus 40 years for money laundering and drug trafficking.

Trump expressed his belief that Ulbricht has already served enough time, having spent 11 years in prison. He also criticized President Biden’s stance on crypto, promising to foster U.S. leadership in the sector. Trump opposes central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and pledges to protect Bitcoin.

Trump’s promises, if realized, could drive innovation, attract investments, and solidify the U.S. as a global leader in digital assets. His stance marks a significant shift from the current administration’s approach, potentially reshaping the regulatory landscape and benefiting the crypto market.
