Onchain credit company Ibis emerged from stealth on October 28, announcing a $250 million credit facility with FalconX and a pre-seed funding round. The facility represents potential lending capacity, not $250 million in loans already made or revenue earned.
Ibis says its initial borrowers will include eligible firms active in crypto trading and capital markets. It plans to originate and manage institutional credit agreements using tokenized records, with Anchorage Digital Bank named as a custody, banking and design partner. The announcement does not specify loan pricing, eligibility tests, how much of the facility has been drawn or how a tokenized claim would work in insolvency. Possible expansion into computing infrastructure and robotics is not a live lending program in those fields.
