Google’s Updated UAE Crypto Ad Rules Take Effect

Google’s updated rules for cryptocurrency exchange and software-wallet ads targeting the United Arab Emirates took effect on October 21. Advertisers need a license from one of four authorities Google accepts for this category—the Capital Market Authority, Dubai Financial Services Authority, Financial Services Regulatory Authority or Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority—and separate Google certification.

The effective date implements an earlier announcement; it was not the date of a newly issued rule. A license alone does not establish Google certification, and the policy is not blanket permission for all crypto promotions.
