Live RLUSD Custody Sets Up Separate Collateral Test

Standard Chartered said on October 12 that its DIFC branch had launched custody for Ripple USD (RLUSD) on the XRP Ledger for eligible institutional clients. The branch is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.

The bank is separately working with Ripple and LMAX Group on a model that would let eligible RLUSD holdings count as trading collateral without sending the tokens directly to a trading venue. That arrangement is not live; it remains subject to documentation, testing, approvals and jurisdictional conditions.
