Starknet’s community backed research into a possible independent, post-quantum layer-1 network in a non-binding governance poll. The poll closed with 93.52% of voting power in support, but it did not approve a migration or establish that Starknet is already secure against every post-quantum threat.
StarkWare and the Starknet Foundation will form a research group to examine the technical trade-offs and publish its findings. Detailed proposals and further votes would follow only if the research supports moving ahead. Open questions include how assets would bridge, where data would be available, and whether independence would cost Starknet security or liquidity benefits it gets from Ethereum.
