Anthony Pompliano Accuses Anthropic of Copying Startup

Anthropic launched a beta personal finance feature for Claude that lets U.S. subscribers on its paid Pro, Max and Ultra plans connect bank and credit card accounts through Plaid. Users can ask about balances, transactions and bills, but access is read-only: Claude cannot move, manage or invest their money.

Anthropic says conversations in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train its models and that the feature has no ads or sponsored recommendations. Its documentation warns that balances may lag and AI-generated figures should be checked against bank records; the source says it is not fully clear how Anthropic tracks or otherwise uses the financial data. Crypto investor Anthony Pompliano alleged that Anthropic sought proprietary information from engineers at his competing startup, Silvia, before the launch.
