Chrome Can Autofill Forms With Gmail Details

Google began rolling out Chrome’s enhanced autofill on Oct. 28. The feature uses Gemini to find order numbers, tracking information and flight bookings in a user’s Gmail and suggest them for web forms. It is rolling out in the U.S. to Gemini in Chrome users who have Personal Intelligence turned on, across desktop, Android and iOS; Google gave no date for other countries.

Google’s announcement does not say the feature pulls credit card numbers or addresses from Gmail. Google says users can control what it accesses in Chrome settings and that sensitive data is encrypted, but its post does not explain how encryption applies to the Gmail content Chrome reads or what it scans.
