Dutch Give US Seized Anti-Fascist Server Data

Dutch police seized an Amsterdam server belonging to Autistici/Inventati (A/I) after a request from U.S. authorities, according to NL Times. Dutch authorities are handing the server’s data to the U.S. The seizure followed a U.S. designation of A/I as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” in August; the U.S. claimed the group provided digital infrastructure for violent far-left militants.

Lawyer Yuriy Brisov said the U.S. designation has no standing in the Netherlands, which has not adopted it. He said Dutch authorities could refuse a request on specified grounds, including if it concerns a political offence, and questioned whether they considered that ground in this case. Privacy advocate Harry Halpin called the seizure politically motivated.
