Calif.io Demonstrates Untethered Jailbreak on iPhone 18 Pro
- Calif.io showcased an untethered jailbreak on an iPhone 18 Pro running iOS 27.0.1 at Hexacon in Paris on October 16.
- The jailbreak allows root access to return after a reboot without needing a computer.
- Apple’s iOS security notes credit Calif.io, Claude, and Anthropic Research for discovering two unrelated crash bugs.
- Apple has not commented on the jailbreak demo, and Calif.io has not released details or tools yet.
An untethered jailbreak demonstrated by Calif.io at Hexacon allows users to bypass Apple’s software restrictions on the iPhone 18 Pro, granting them root access even after a reboot. This breakthrough highlights vulnerabilities in Apple’s security measures despite their extensive efforts to prevent such exploits.
