Tesla will wind down Cybertruck production at its Texas factory around mid-2027 to make room for more Cybercab robotaxis, CEO Elon Musk said on November 6, 2026. He described a planned wind-down, not a completed shutdown.
Tesla delivered 8,295 vehicles in its “other models” category, which includes the Cybertruck, in the third quarter, down 48% from a year earlier, according to Electrek. That category’s figures do not show Cybertruck deliveries alone. Tesla began offering Cybercab rides in limited areas of Austin on September 3, Reuters reported; federal regulators said they were evaluating the vehicles, which have no steering wheel or pedals.
