$5.8B Binance Hack: What’s Confirmed, What Isn’t

Binance suspended withdrawals on 29 October 2026 while investigating suspicious transfers from Binance-linked wallets. Analysts estimated outflows of up to $5.8 billion, but some warned that higher estimates may include unrelated transfers. Binance has not confirmed a theft, a final loss figure or when withdrawals will resume.

Tether and Circle reported freezing more than $1.567 billion in USDT and more than $800 million in USDC linked to the suspected incident. Those freezes are not confirmed recoveries. Binance said customer funds were safe and that it would cover hacking losses.
