Certik Oversees Kyrgyzstan CBDC Development

Kyrgyzstan Central Bank Partners with Certik for Enhanced Digital Asset Security

  • On September 9, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic (NBKR) signed an MoU with Certik to enhance security for the proposed Digital Som.
  • Certik will collaborate with NBKR on CBDC cybersecurity, anti-money laundering (AML), and counter-financing of terrorism (CFT) measures.
  • The partnership includes deploying Certik’s tools for real-time transaction monitoring and compliance support.
  • Technical training and knowledge transfer will be provided to NBKR personnel under this agreement.
  • Certik has previously advised regulatory bodies like the Monetary Authority of Singapore on compliant Web3 frameworks.

This strategic partnership aims to bolster digital asset security in Kyrgyzstan by integrating Certik’s expertise into the central bank’s operational framework. The collaboration focuses on proactive security measures during infrastructure design rather than post-deployment adjustments.

By leveraging Certik’s tools, NBKR seeks to ensure comprehensive oversight of its digital asset ecosystem, aligning with global standards for CBDC development and regulation. (Source)
