ZachXBT: French bank alleged $133M crypto-theft victim

Onchain investigator ZachXBT identified French banking group Crédit Mutuel Arkéa as the alleged victim of a crypto theft exceeding $133 million and said losses could be higher if over-the-counter transactions are included. The bank’s alleged involvement has not been independently verified, and ZachXBT has not said how attackers gained access to the funds. Crédit Mutuel Arkéa had not responded to a request for comment by publication.

ZachXBT first reported more than $106 million in suspicious withdrawals from centralized exchanges, then raised his estimate after finding another $27 million in withdrawals. Kraken and Crypto.com said they had restricted accounts or blocked funds linked to the suspected theft; both said their platforms remained secure.
