Binance Reserves Over $6.3B for Hack Losses

Binance said on Oct. 30, 2026, that it had begun recovering assets affected by a large-scale cyberattack and reserved more than $6.34 billion of company funds to cover confirmed user losses. About $5 billion of the reserve was already held in the affected tokens; Binance said it was still buying the remainder and gave no timetable for completion.

Binance said industry partners had frozen another $3 billion in assets, separate from its reserve. Those assets remain subject to recovery and verification. The exchange said it plans to use its Proof of Reserves mechanism to verify publicly that all user funds are accounted for.
