Binance Suffers $6.3 Billion Hack

Attackers stole about $6.34 billion from Binance across 10 blockchains on Oct. 29, 2026, in what the exchange called the largest hack in cryptocurrency industry history. Binance’s preliminary findings said attackers gained access to its transaction-signing service after compromising employee devices. On Ethereum, an EIP-7702 delegation let them keep taking incoming funds after Binance suspended withdrawals; other networks used regular signed transactions.

Binance said partners froze $3 billion of the stolen assets and that it set aside more than $6.34 billion to cover confirmed user losses. It reopened withdrawals for some Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain assets on Nov. 1, with other networks subject to security checks. The FBI attributed the attack to North Korea’s TraderTraitor group, but Kim Yo Jong rejected the finding.
