Crypto Scam Exposed: Fake Business School Teachers

The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) has uncovered a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme involving fake business schools. These schools lured investors with promises of incredible profits from investment courses.

Victims were added to WhatsApp and Telegram groups for trading signals and advice. They were pressured to take out loans and share personal information. The scammers even took out loans in victims’ names.

Despite showing fake transaction screenshots, no actual transfers occurred. Victims were threatened with legal action unless they repaid the loans in cryptocurrency. A notable case involved Excellence and Innovation Fortune, which scammed a victim out of $300,000.

This incident highlights the importance of vigilance and due diligence in crypto investments. The DFI’s exposure of this scheme underscores the need for regulatory oversight to protect investors.
