At BTC Prague 2024, held from June 13-15, Trezor launched its new flagship hardware wallet, the Trezor Safe 5, and a personal consultation service, Trezor Expert. The Safe 5, designed for secure self-custody, features a large color touchscreen protected by Gorilla Glass and an innovative backup system using Shamir’s Secret Sharing Scheme.
The backup system allows users to split their private keys into multiple fragments, enhancing security. Available for pre-order in Bitcoin Orange and Graphite Black, the Safe 5 will retail in July 2024, with Green Beryl and Violet Ore following in mid-August 2024, priced at $169.
Additionally, Trezor Expert offers personal crypto wallet setup consultations for $99. This launch comes as Trezor seeks to capitalize on increased demand following criticism of competitor Ledger.
