Malware Targets Crypto Wallets via Fake Microsoft Office Add-Ins

• Kaspersky discovered malware replacing crypto wallet addresses on users’ clipboards.
• The malware is distributed under the guise of Microsoft Office Add-Ins on a legitimate software hosting site.
• It primarily targets Russian users, with 90% of potential victims expected to be in Russia.
• The campaign affected approximately 4,604 Russian users between early January and late March.
• The actual malware size is only 7MB within a seemingly legitimate 700MB installer.

According to Kaspersky, around 4,604 Russian users encountered this malware scheme between early January and late March. The malware replaces crypto wallet addresses on clipboards, leading victims to unknowingly send funds to attackers.
