Robinhood Launches Crypto Futures in U.S. Europe

Robinhood is considering offering cryptocurrency futures in the U.S. and Europe, with no official launch date yet announced. The company aims to leverage licenses from Bitstamp, a crypto exchange it plans to acquire for $200 million by next year.

The trading app plans to introduce Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) futures based on CME in the U.S., though discussions remain ongoing and plans may change. This move follows Robinhood’s acquisition of Pluto Capital, an AI research platform, to enhance tailored investment strategies.

Robinhood seeks to expand its crypto offerings and attract both institutional and retail clients. With its new focus on crypto, retirement products, and credit cards, the company aims to help individual investors enhance their crypto portfolios.

Introducing crypto futures could strategically strengthen Robinhood’s market position and broaden its user base.
