Visa, BILL and Billtrust announced an October 20 live pilot in which trusted AI agents initiate and complete approved buyer-invoice payments through supplier portals. The pilot is limited to business payments; it does not give agents open-ended authority to spend or launch public-blockchain settlement.
The project uses Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol to authenticate agents to supplier portals while preserving supplier oversight and controls.
