Lee: Bitmine’s ETH purchases stop at 5% supply

Tom Lee said Bitmine will stop buying ether when its holdings reach 5% of ethereum’s supply. At the time of his remarks, he said it held roughly 6 million ETH, or 4.9% of supply, and needed about 100,000 ETH more to reach that cap. Bitmine had not yet stopped buying.

Bitmine added 12,535 ETH on Oct. 19, bringing its holdings to 6,041,481 ETH, then worth nearly $14.5 billion. It later staked another 159,728 ETH, raising the share of its treasury in staking to about 86.5%. The source does not give a year for those transactions.
