Buterin Outlines Future Steps for Ethereum’s Decentralization

Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum co-founder, emphasized the need for further decentralization and permissionlessness in the Ethereum network at a developer interop in Kenya. He highlighted advancements such as PeerDAS, Verkle tree transition, and EIP 4444, aimed at enhancing network capacity and reducing energy consumption. These technical innovations mark significant progress in Ethereum’s development, particularly in making the network more accessible to both Layer 1 and Layer 2 users. By addressing issues like Miner Extractable Value (MEV) and focusing on simplifying solo staking and node operation, Buterin’s strategies aim to mitigate centralization risks and lower the entry barriers for staking and running nodes.
