Ethereum Revenue Soars to $2.7B in One Year

Ethereum has topped the blockchain revenue charts, generating $2.72 billion over the past year, surpassing Bitcoin’s $1.3 billion. This marks a significant milestone for Ethereum, as it outperforms other major blockchains in terms of revenue.

As reported by Lookonchain, Ethereum’s revenue exceeded Bitcoin’s by $1.42 billion. Data from Defi Llama shows Ethereum’s dominance in decentralized finance (defi) with a total value locked (TVL) of $58.4 billion, which is 60.9% of the market.

In comparison, Bitcoin’s TVL is just $1 billion. Ethereum also saw a 155% year-over-year increase in Q1 fee revenue, benefiting from a crypto market bull run. Other notable blockchains include Tron, Solana, and BSC, with respective revenues of $459 million, $241 million, and $176 million.

Tron is the second-largest defi chain with a TVL of $7.7 billion, followed by BSC and Solana with $4.8 billion and $4.5 billion. Avalanche, zkSync Era, Optimism, and Polygon complete the top 10 with revenues ranging from $68 million to $23 million.

Ethereum’s impressive revenue and market share underscore its strategic importance and potential for sustained growth in the blockchain ecosystem.
