Ethereum developers removed the planned October 26, 2026, Glamsterdam activation from the Hoodi testnet schedule while they investigate how EIP-8037 interacts with existing mainnet smart contracts, the Ethereum Foundation said. No replacement activation time has been chosen. This is a testnet scheduling change, not a rollback of confirmed Hoodi transactions or an announced delay to a specific mainnet launch date.
The change removes the Amsterdam execution-layer and Gloas consensus-layer activations, along with a planned increase in Hoodi’s gas limit to 200 million at that epoch. The Foundation told operators to check revised instructions for both types of client rather than rely on earlier compatibility tables. It has not published a definitive diagnosis identifying a live exploit or failure.
