Ethereum developers have scheduled the Glamsterdam upgrade to activate on the Hoodi test network on October 26 at 17:42:48 UTC. Hoodi’s gas limit is set to rise to 200 million at the same point, but Ethereum has not announced a mainnet activation date. The testnet increase does not mean mainnet capacity will immediately quadruple.
Glamsterdam is intended to bring the relationship between block proposers and builders into Ethereum’s protocol, support parallel block processing, and change how some execution costs are charged. Hoodi validators and node operators will need compatible software before activation. Mainnet users have no action to take yet.
