Zcash Bugs Resolved by Anthropic’s Mythos AI

Zcash Security Audit Finds No Serious Vulnerabilities

  • A security audit by Anthropic’s Claude Mythos AI found no serious vulnerabilities in the Zcash protocol.
  • The audit was requested by Shielded Labs, a Swiss non-profit supporting Zcash development.
  • On June 3, Zcash developers temporarily halted Orchard transactions due to a forgery bug discovered by Taylor Hornby.
  • The vulnerability was resolved the same day through an emergency upgrade with no evidence of exploitation or unauthorized value creation.
  • In April, crypto hacks surged to $634 million, marking the highest monthly total since February’s Bybit hack.

The findings from the AI audit are significant as they indicate that user privacy remains intact and that critical vulnerabilities were not present in Zcash’s protocol following recent concerns. This comes amid rising security issues within the cryptocurrency space fueled by new AI technologies.

Despite the positive audit results, the broader crypto landscape faces challenges, with hacks reaching $634 million in April alone, highlighting ongoing cybersecurity risks. (Source)
