Zcash developers agreed on block 3,543,405 for the NU7 mainnet upgrade, with activation expected around Nov. 5. Developer Sean Bowe proposed the block height on GitHub, but said the upgrade specifications still needed to be finalized before the proposal could be merged. A readiness tracker showed six of 12 tasks complete, and developers had not confirmed whether outstanding node synchronization and mainnet work could affect the planned date.
Zcash (ZEC) rose about 12% over 24 hours as the proposal emerged, trading around $1,270 at last look, according to CoinGecko. NU7 aims to cut the target block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds.
