Grayscale’s GDLC Fund Holding SOL and ADA Gets SEC Nod for NYSE Debut
- The U.S. SEC approved the listing of Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC) on NYSE Arca on September 17.
- GDLC holds Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA).
- Bitcoin comprises over 72% of the fund’s holdings, followed by Ethereum at over 17%, with smaller allocations for XRP (5.62%), SOL (4.03%), and ADA (1%).
- The SEC has also introduced generic listing standards for crypto ETFs, reducing approval timelines from 240 to just 75 days.
- Analysts anticipate that more than 100 crypto ETFs could launch within the next year due to these new standards.
The SEC’s approval allows investors to gain exposure to major digital assets through a regulated platform, enhancing the legitimacy of cryptocurrency investments. The approval process was previously delayed as the SEC reviewed its actions regarding GDLC.
With Bitcoin representing over 72% of GDLC’s holdings, this fund marks a significant step in making cryptocurrency investments more accessible through traditional financial markets.
