Messari CEO Accuses SEC, Prepares for Battle

Ryan Selkis, CEO of Messari, has accused the SEC of corruption and pledged to cease cooperation with the regulator. He claims the SEC is failing to protect citizens and regulate the crypto industry effectively.

Messari, which launched a crypto data registry in 2018, aims to compete with the SEC using modern technology. Selkis argues that investigative journalism is more effective than the SEC’s litigation approach in uncovering fraud.

Selkis previously criticized the SEC for its bias against crypto ETFs, which he says caused $7 billion in losses for Grayscale investors. Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, also criticized the SEC, linking its policies to potential political repercussions for President Biden.

Despite ongoing criticism from the crypto industry and American legislators, the SEC continues to pursue legal actions against cryptocurrency companies. The long-term impact of Selkis’ statements could influence future regulatory approaches.
