Coinbase Derivatives will launch margined futures contracts for Avalanche (AVAX), Chainlink (LINK), Polkadot (DOT), Stellar (XLM), and Shiba Inu (SHIB) on July 15. Announced on June 28, these contracts are regulated by the CFTC and aim to enhance market accessibility.
Coinbase is the first US futures exchange to offer margined futures for these tokens, marking a significant milestone. These contracts help participants manage risk, speculate on prices, and invest with lower upfront capital.
Despite the announcement, the tokens’ prices remained stable, reflecting the broader market trend. Coinbase Derivatives saw $34.1 million in open interest and $971.8 million in 24-hour volume on June 28, showcasing its growing impact.
This launch underscores Coinbase’s commitment to leading the maturation of crypto derivatives in a regulated market, aligning with its broader strategic goals.
