Vitalik Buterin Criticizes U.S. Crypto Regulation

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has criticized the U.S. regulatory approach to cryptocurrency, calling it “anarcho-tyranny.” In a response on Warpcast, Buterin highlighted that the current framework stifles industry growth by allowing vague projects to thrive while burdening transparent ones with strict regulations.

The SEC, led by Gary Gensler, has been aggressive, recently suing Consensys over MetaMask’s services. Critics say this “legislation through litigation” hampers innovation. Buterin argues this creates an incentive for useless products and calls for balanced regulation to protect genuine projects.

Buterin believes collaboration between regulators and the crypto industry is essential for sustainable growth. His advocacy for clear and fair regulations aims to foster innovation while ensuring investor protection.
