The co-founders of Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Ben Horowitz and Marc Andreessen, have criticized the SEC and Biden administration’s approach to the crypto industry. They voiced their concerns in a recent episode of “The Ben & Marc Show,” highlighting regulatory uncertainties.
They argue that the SEC’s lack of clear guidelines is stifling growth, leading to over 30 lawsuits against crypto projects in their portfolio. Andreessen noted that neither he nor Horowitz had received such aggressive actions in their 30-year careers.
Biden’s veto on a financial regulation bill, seen as harmful to crypto, was also discussed. Efforts by a16z to engage with the administration have been unsuccessful.
In contrast, Donald Trump shows support for the crypto sector, gaining endorsements from industry figures. This regulatory uncertainty and political divide are pivotal for the crypto industry’s future.
