Kraken Launches CFTC-Approved Futures for US

Kraken to Launch CFTC-Regulated Perpetual Futures in the US

  • Kraken plans to introduce CFTC-regulated perpetual futures for eligible US traders within the next month.
  • Contracts will be available on Bitnomial, a CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Market acquired by Kraken’s parent company, Payward.
  • The initial asset offering includes BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, LINK, DOGE, LTC and AVAX.
  • John Palmer from Kraken highlighted the importance of a regulated domestic route for US traders into global crypto derivatives markets.
  • Perpetual futures will feature continuous pricing and an eight-hour funding rate without expiration dates.

This move by Kraken marks a significant shift in providing regulated access to perpetual futures for US traders, traditionally available only via offshore exchanges. The integration of these products with spot and margin trading offers a unified interface for managing crypto positions.

Kraken’s initiative could redefine how American traders participate in the crypto derivatives market by offering a more cohesive product suite under CFTC regulation. (Source)
