Mastercard launched Stablecoin Security, a tool it says helps banks assess fraud and other risks before stablecoin payments move on-chain. It is being introduced in North America first; worldwide commercial availability is expected in 2027, with no launch dates announced for individual countries outside the initial market.
Mastercard said the tool uses payment data and blockchain intelligence to flag possible scams, sanctions violations and other financial crime risks, and generates scores to help institutions decide whether to make further checks. Borderless.xyz and Keyrails are its first partners. Mastercard plans to integrate BVNK into the service’s expansion during 2027.
