MiniPay, a blockchain wallet built on Celo, introduced a new feature called Pockets on Wednesday, enabling one-click swaps between stablecoins like USDT and USDC. This upgrade is available in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana.
With Pockets, MiniPay users can now easily swap between Celo Dollar (cUSD) and top stablecoins, thanks to a collaboration with Mento Labs. This feature, featuring a “Drag & Swap” mechanism, aims to simplify stablecoin transactions with minimal fees.
Since expanding to four African countries, MiniPay has seen over 3 million wallets activated in under a year, showcasing rapid growth in stablecoin usage. Pockets, alongside the Discover Page for dApps, makes advanced Web3 technology accessible to many.
This milestone marks a significant step towards financial empowerment and Web3 adoption in Africa, positioning MiniPay as a key player in the region’s digital economy.
